People from Emmen caught driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs

In Emmen, two drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs last night. The police reported this on Facebook.

Officers arrived shortly after midnight at a 23-year-old Emmenaar at a parking lot on Brinkenweg. The site was full of smoke, which led to the suspicion that the man was stunting with his car. During the alcohol check, he blew more than a third more than the permitted amount of 220 Ugl. In addition, the drink driver did not have a driver’s license and identity card with him.

At around 3 a.m., a 30-year-old man from Emmen was arrested on the same Brinkenweg because he was driving under the influence of drugs. After a stay at the police station, he was allowed to continue on his way.

The police also took action in Nieuw-Schoonebeek, where a 53-year-old Emmenaar was found to be driving an uninsured car. In addition, he took a suspicious alcohol breathalyzer, which necessitated a more extensive breath analysis at the police station. That visit was not followed up, the man remained below the permitted limit.
