The positive credit report will not be implemented until April 1, 2024, but this has not stopped criminals from sending fraudulent messages in its name already.
The tax authority warns on its website about messages in which the recipient is enticed to click on a link leading to a scam website using the name of a positive credit information register. The scam messages have mentioned, among other things, the law change that came into force, on the basis of which the person is advised to check their information.
Project manager of the positive credit information register The only Sarakorpi tells in the bulletinthat the registry does not send text messages to private individuals, but that the messages coming in its name are always scams.
– We receive the information in the register directly from creditors, we do not request it from private individuals. People should never click on a link sent via text message, and we don’t send them such links, Sarakorpi reminds.
You can check your information on the register’s own electronic transaction service from April 1, 2024, not before.
In the future, the service can be accessed from the website of the positive credit information register positivienluottotietorekisteri.fi. You should write the web address directly in the address line of the browser and save it in bookmarks, if there is a need to visit the site in the future.
