Klaus U. (72) was in court for murder 22 years ago. He had killed his then wife Yenis (26) in Köpenick out of jealousy because she was cheating.

But the Berlin district court acquitted the trained sound engineer because they provoked him and he was said to have been innocent at the moment of the crime. He had learned and married woman in Cuba, after which they had a son.

Since Monday, the pensioner has had to answer to the Leipzig Regional Court for attempted murder – and the parallels are frightening!

On July 20, 2022 he is said to have tried to kill his new wife Susanne (56) with a candlestick. She was still in bed when he is said to have threatened: “You don’t even get up here anymore. You die alone, with me.” But she was able to free herself and call the police. She survived badly injured.

This was preceded by a long phase of depression, which is why he was also being treated. There was always “turbulence” in marriage. “We couldn’t do without and not with each other.”

She knew about his actions in 2001. “But I wanted to go into the relationship without prejudice.” Her husband was initially silent. The verdict is to fall on May 9th.
