In the first away match of 2024, Pelikaan failed to wash away the bad aftertaste of the 8-0 home defeat against ROHDA Raalte. In Scherpenzeel the team from Oostwold lost 2-0. Once again they failed to score.
That was not necessarily the tactic of trainer Robbie Wentink, who plainly stated that he had not come to Gelderland to entertain the audience. “No, we wanted to park the bus the old-fashioned way. And that tactic worked too. I was happy that the team could stick to the game plan. If we could have held on for five minutes longer, we might have achieved a result.”

Pelikaan S is bottom in the fourth division and is six points behind the penultimate Heino. Next Saturday they will play another away game, then in Zwolle against Berkum.
