Pelikaan S in cup match with 4-1 cup against ONS Sneek. Gorecht knocks DZOH

In the battle for the northern district cup, things went completely wrong with Pelikaan S after the break. It lost 4-1 at ONS Sneek. Gorecht reached the quarterfinals at the expense of DZOH: 2-1.

Pelikaan S failed to close the game in the first half. The team from Oostwold had several chances, but Omar Kavak and Jan Hooiveld in particular did not have their sights set correctly.

Still, after half an hour of play, it was deservedly 0-1 for Pelikaan S. Jeroen Haan sent a clever pass to Ifeay Gorissen, who then had no trouble scoring.

After the break, things went completely wrong with the team of coach Jan Kloetstra. With no less than 4-1, the Frisians rolled over the proud leader of the first class F of Saturday football. Pelikaan S’s only achievement at 2-1 was a free kick by Quinten Anakotta on the post. ,,After the break it was a drama”, Kloetstra reacted. “It was hole cheese with us. We were completely outclassed in every way.”

Gorecht knocks DZOH

Gorecht and DZOH ruled last season in the northern second division. In the mutual cup match, they did nothing for each other on Tuesday evening. Gorecht mainly played from the switch, while DZOH showed more well-groomed football.

Gorecht took a 1-0 lead halfway through the first half through Nick Janzen. After the restart, Bastin Boer equalized 1-1, but immediately afterwards Thijs Hekman used a penalty kick for the team from Haren: 2-1.

,,The different playing styles resulted in a beautiful spectacle”, coach Hans van der Ploeg van Gorecht said. “Thanks to our solid defense, we won the game.”

Trainer Marc van Meel of DZOH was especially proud of his team playing with many substitutes. “We also lost due to a referee error. We definitely deserved extra time.”
