Alarm in Brazil for Pelé’s health conditions. In Qatar the rumors about the umpteenth hospitalization of the tri-champion of the world, the legendary number 10 of the Seleçao, have rebounded. Since yesterday Pelè has been hospitalized in the Einstein hospital in San Paolo, a hospitalization planned according to the family, for the umpteenth cycle of chemotherapy. Pelé has been battling colon cancer for a year and a half.

Daughter Kelly on social media denied that the situation is so serious: “My father is in the hospital for a course of treatment and I’m not flying to him. My brothers are with dad. I will go to him in the new year”. Kelly is in Doha, Qatar, to follow the Seleçao.

In reality, worrying rumors are circulating on the main Brazilian sites. “The hospitalization – writes o Globo, the country’s main newspaper – was not planned. Upon arrival at Einstein, the medical team following the former player confirmed a picture of generalized swelling, general edema and heart failure from decompensation”. O Globo adds that Pelé no longer responds to chemotherapy for tumors present in various organs of the body.
