Teemu Selänne stated in X that Pekka Haaviston and by Antonio Flores the relationship does not fit his values. There was an immediate uproar over the topic, and Selänne elaborated on what he said.

The age difference between Haavisto, 65, and Flores, 45, is 20 years.
Presidential candidate Haavisto has seen the conversation. He noted Ilta-Sanomthat everyone has the right to their own opinions.
– It’s certainly good that the discussion is taking place. Maybe I personally think that in today’s world a registered relationship is no longer big news, Haavisto told IS.
Haavisto and Flores registered their relationship already in 2002.
