Peek&Cloppenburg Hamburg wants to strengthen the expansion of the marketplace business

The Hamburg group of companies Peek&Cloppenburg KG intends to develop into a “leading marketplace for fashion and lifestyle” by 2030, the company writes in a press release. The aim is the targeted expansion of the platform business and the development of further premium locations in Germany and Europe for stationary trade.

The Hamburg-based company has been developing its Van Graaf online shop into a marketplace for partner products since 2020. In addition, P&C Hamburg is increasingly represented with its own brand collections on third-party platforms such as About You or Zalando. At the same time, the company already offers a network of on-site and online shopping opportunities in all stores. All products from the online platform Vangraaf.com operated by P&C can be ordered via the stores, which also accept online returns from their customers.

Investment in e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail

Another focus is on the continuous development of the stores, of which there are currently 39 in Germany and Europe. Product ranges were upgraded and areas modernized, for example in Hamburg-Osdorf in the Elbe shopping center, in Hanover, or in Bremen’s Weserpark shopping center. The company is currently on the lookout for new stores in prime locations. The most recent addition is an outlet in Prague at the end of March.

The trading house is also investing in the further development of logistics. In Reinbek in Schleswig-Holstein, P&C is expanding its 45,000 square meter logistics center with a high-bay warehouse. An automatic shuttle storage system with almost 100,000 storage locations and a modern sorting system, which will process over 7,000 items of clothing per hour for omni-channel distribution from 2024, will be built on almost 8,000 square meters in a new building specially built for this purpose.

The Hamburg group of companies Peek&Cloppenburg KG operates completely independently of its namesake based in Düsseldorf. At the locations in Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, Latvia and the Czech Republic and as an online shop, the company appears exclusively under the Van Graaf name. P&C works with over 500 fashion labels on the Vangraaf.com platform.
