The President of the Executive makes his tenth trip to the island since the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will visit the island of La Palma this Tuesday, August 16, on what will be his tenth trip after the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano in September 2021 and the holding in March 2022 of the Conference of Presidents.

Sánchez will begin his institutional visit at 10:00 a.m. (Canarian time) with a institutional meeting at the Salazar Palace in Santa Cruz de La Palma, an act in which he will be accompanied by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias; the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres; the president of the Cabildo de La Palma, Mariano Hernández Zapata, and the Government delegate in the archipelago, Anselmo Pestana, among other authorities, as reported by the Presidency of the Government of Spain in a press release.

Later, at 11:00 a.m., the President of the Government is expected to offer a statement to the media and at around 12:00 noon (local time) he will visit the works on the new highway in the north, the La Costa highway (Tazacorte).
