A pedestrian was injured in an accident on Heijermansstraat in Zaandam this evening. It was hit by a pickup truck at a roundabout.
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. The pedestrian hit his head hard on the asphalt and was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, a police spokesperson said. The Traffic Accident Analysis (VOA) is conducting an investigation.
The car has almost no damage. Neither the pedestrian nor the motorist were under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, police said.
