A pedestrian was killed around 6 p.m. on Monday in a collision in Heusden-Zolder.
Three pedestrians walked from the parking lot of the Mijn buildings and wanted to cross the Koolmijnlaan. At that moment, KF (28) from Houthalen arrived in her BMW. She wasn’t speeding, but saw the pedestrians too late and scooped up one of them. BS (64) from Beringen was killed instantly. The two other pedestrians, the deceased woman’s husband and another family member, were unharmed but in shock.
A traffic expert came to the scene to investigate the accident. The victims’ families are also on the scene. The accident caused limited nuisance, traffic can easily detour.
