An accident occurred at Zonnedauwhoek in Zaandam this morning around 8.30 am in which a pedestrian died. The police have arrested someone, but cannot yet say what role they played in the accident.
“The victim was a pedestrian,” a police spokesperson told NH. It is not yet clear to the police which vehicles played a role in the accident.
“A car drove away after the accident,” the spokesperson said. She cannot yet say whether the arrested person was the driver of this car.

The identity of the victim is not yet known.
The police have started an investigation into the accident and are asking witnesses to come forward. The Traffic Accident Analysis conducted an investigation at Zonnedauwhoek this morning. The road has now been reopened.
