Peabodysmath Academy: Transforming mathematics education

Reggie, what was the inspiration behind creating your academy?

My mathematics academy in Latin America was born from the desire to impact teaching. I started as a tutor eight years ago, continuing in Argentina.

Working closely with students, I faced their challenges and successes. A key change was a student considering mathematics boring and difficult, prompting me to innovate in teaching. I adopted modern tools and pedagogical approaches to energize classes. Seeing better understanding and enjoyment in my students, I decided to expand my impact. I turned my passion into a business, seeking to transform mathematics education, making it accessible, interesting and understandable, changing the perception and learning in mathematics.

What makes your courses unique and valuable to students?

My courses focus on improving students’ relationship with mathematics, a subject that is often perceived as difficult.

Many students aspire to enter prestigious universities, travel, and obtain scholarships abroad, but they often encounter challenges with complex mathematics subjects. My courses are specifically designed to help students overcome these difficulties, providing them with the necessary preparation to confidently face international exams. I provide them with the tools and knowledge to master mathematics in exams such as the Cambridge SAt and A level, thus removing a significant barrier on their path to academic and professional success.

What is your main goal when helping students with your courses?

My main goal is for students to feel confident when facing international exams. I want to eliminate the intimidation they often feel when faced with math sections and make them feel prepared and empowered to face these academic challenges.

What recommendations would you give to those looking to prepare for international exams such as the SAT or the Cambridge A Level?

The key to success in these exams lies in preparation. They are often not difficult in themselves, but students may feel overwhelmed by being tested to international standards. However, with enough preparation and dedication, these exams can be passed without problems.

How do you imagine the evolution of your academy in the future?

I hope my academy continues to grow and help more students achieve their academic and professional goals. I plan to expand our courses and resources to reach an even broader audience in Latin America and provide them with the support they need on their educational journey.
