Iskelmä legend Paula Koivuniemi, 75, arrived at Linna a little before seven o’clock.

The singer, who was in a happy mood, arrived at the Presidential Palace alone.

Koivuniemi’s manager Laura Vuorinen told Iltalehte about the invitation on Friday.

– Paula is happy about the invitation. It’s a matter of honor, Vuorinen said.

This year, the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö awarded Koivuniemi the Suomen Leijona Pro Finlandia medal. The badge of honor was presented to the singing legend on Independence Day.

Koivuniemi, who has been to Linna’s celebrations several times, last participated in the President’s Independence Day celebration reception in 2017.
