Roger was born in 1935 in the house not far from the Ieperlee. He came to live there again in 1985. Never before has the water been so high, not even in 1993 when the IJzervlakte also flooded. In the meantime, the water is already receding somewhat. The sandbags will remain in place because the water surface still partly extends into the garden. The yellow tarpaulin in the garden also remains in place. When the wind blows, the sail rises and blocks the rising water.
