Historic evening for Paul Wanner. The 16-year-old celebrated his Bundesliga debut at the beginning of the second half of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He is now the youngest player to ever appear for FC Bayern.
The precarious corona situation at FC Bayern helped teenager Paul Wanner set a record on Friday evening. The junior player was substituted on for Marc Roca a good quarter of an hour before the end of the second half of the season opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach – and at 16 years and 15 days he became the youngest Bundesliga player in the history of the German soccer champions.
Only Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko was younger at the debut in Germany’s top division at the age of 16 and one day at his first game in November 2020.
