Paul McCartney’s bass disappeared – Magnifier launched 44 years later

The bass guitar of Paul McCartney, who influenced The Beatles in 1969, is now being searched worldwide.

Paul McCartney’s a worldwide search has been launched for the famous Höfner bass guitar, BBC news.

The Lost Bass Project requests information on “the most important bass in history”.

The search for the missing Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass has started relatively late. The instrument disappeared in the 1960s.

The Beatles legend bought his legendary bass in Hamburg in 1961 for only 35 euros. It disappeared eight years later.

Now McCartney has urged the manufacturer Höfner to track down his beloved instrument.

According to the BBC, the sound of the bass in question can be heard, for example, on The Beatles’ hit songs Love Me Do and She Loves You.

Apparently, the bass was put in storage in 1969 when the band was filming Get Back -documentary.

After that, its whereabouts are unknown.

A Höfner employee who has made a career working on the mystery of the missing bass guitar is involved in the search project Nick Wass and two British journalists, a married couple Scott and Naomi Jones.
