Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones have been in the studio together – and Macca is playing bass on a new song by the band. A spokesman for the Rolling Stones confirmed this to Billboard magazine. There had previously been rumors that Ringo Starr would also be present at the recordings, which the spokesman unfortunately denied. A meeting of all living Beatles and Stones is therefore excluded.
The song the Beatle is contributing to is part of an as yet unnamed collection that will make up a new studio album. This would be the Stones’ first record since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005. So far there is little information – it is known that the musicians are working with producer Andrew Watt on the recordings.
Charlie Watts will probably be heard on drums. He recorded songs to be used on the record prior to his death on August 24, 2021. Keith Richards confirmed back in 2021 that work on the new LP was about halfway through when Watts passed away. The tracks are currently being finalized in Los Angeles.
