The drama series about the life of Patty Brard does not exactly receive positive reviews. Volkskrant critic Herien Wensink in particular is unrelenting; she gives the Videoland series only two stars. However, she irritates quite a few people, because at the beginning of the review she makes it clear that she looks down on Patty anyway.

“It’s pathetic!”

Herien’s ugly words have been punished from left to right; Kitty Herweijer even wrote a column about it in the A.D. She has to spit a little at Herien’s disclaimer that she is not interested in Patty. “People who do have that – read the plebs – were allowed to add a star from her.”

Patty feels strengthened by Kitty’s column. She lets her know Instagram: “Such a shame that such a reviewer of such a correct newspaper does not actually DARE to give that third star, otherwise the elitist credibility gone with the wind! Pathetic! ❤️ Thanks Kitty Herweijer.”

‘Stop it!’

It means a lot to Patty. Also at the desk Show news she shows her displeasure. “I’ve had a lot of nice comments, including one or two nasty reviews, but you know, you can’t please everyone. I also sometimes think: I like this less than that.”

When asked what she thinks of the Volkskrant piece, she says: “What? Oh, that newspaper for the people! No, that doesn’t bother me. Stop. Actually, you know that if those kinds of newspapers write you to heaven, you are not doing well commercially. What I like is that it can be done differently, because Trouw had a fantastic review tonight.”
