Patty Brard slaughters new protégé Albert Verlinde: ‘So bad’

Patty Brard makes mincemeat of Albert Verlinde’s new protégé: the musical lad Tristan van der Lingen, who won the TV show In Search on Friday night. “Hopefully he takes him to singing lessons!”

Tristan van der Lingen, who came under fire just before the finale of Op Search Naar because of a report of assault, will play the lead role in the new Albert Verlinde musical Grease. However, he is not exactly an advertisement for this musical and not only because of that declaration, says Shownieuws diva Patty Brard.

To singing lessons

When Bart Ettekoven says in the show section that Albert cannot be reached for comment on the report against his new protégé, Patty remarks very falsely: “Maybe he is taking Tristan to singing lessons. Jesus.”

Bart surprised: “Oh, didn’t you like it?”

Patti: “No.”

Bart: “He was the best in that series.”

Not to hear

Patty: “It was really hard to listen to, sorry to say.”

Bart: “He was the clear winner. That’s the feeling I get, that it was clear from episode one that he had to win. Sometimes you just notice. Very small details where such a producer can push the audience in the right direction. For example, he was wearing the red jacket, the color of strength.”

Patty: “Bart, please stop. Isn’t it ultimately about a boy like that standing there and being able to sing, like Jim Bakkum would do? It just wasn’t good, done.”

Bad and worse

The audience just voted Tristan the winner, didn’t they? “I know, but if you have to vote between bad and even worse, you take bad. I’m sorry to say. I really thought it was that bad.”

Colleague Airen Mylene: “There are several people who share this opinion with Patty. It was also pretty bad.”

Anti-advertising

Rob Goossens, the TV connoisseur of RTL Boulevard, fully agrees with Patty. He says in the competitive show section: “I wish I could say I enjoyed it, but it was disappointing.”

He continues: “The two male finalists that remained were so weak that I thought: this is more anti-advertising. And then the winner also has a fairly serious, painful accusation of assault on his pants.”
