Patty Brard lashes out at Tim Hofman: ‘Everything for the ratings?’

Patty Brard, the woman who once had her intestines cleaned on television, has the idea that Tim Hofman is all about the ratings. “Then why do you want to show it?”

Tim Hofman has made an entire report about the armed man who entered the BNNVARA building with the aim of killing him. It is grist to the mill of people who think that Tim is very often about Tim himself; they blame him for the fact that the perpetrator was immediately apprehended and that such a report is therefore not necessary.

Premature Tim

One of the critics is criminal lawyer Natacha Harlequin. She doesn’t understand Tim, she lets him know Show news. “I just think it’s premature. I wonder what this broadcast actually adds at this moment. The Public Prosecution Service had already given a statement that something happened at the Mediapark and they have already said quite a lot.”

He continues: “What has now been added are the images with music underneath. Then I think: yes, people look at that. It then raises a lot of questions, so I understand that the suspect’s lawyer thinks it is too premature.”

‘Anything for the ratings!’

Tim should count to ten next time, Natacha advises. “I can imagine that Tim wants to make a broadcast about himself or about safety at the Media Park, but maybe a little later, because Tim cannot properly estimate at what moment he might endanger that investigation.”

Then Patty Brard accuses him of more or less sensationalism. “Isn’t this a typical case of everything for the ratings? I’m just asking because I can’t imagine: if you don’t have it complete, why do you want to show it? Because no one has it complete.”

Crazy about the questions

Bart Ettekoven also does not rule out the possibility that Tim simply did not feel like asking questions about this file. “Maybe all the questions were driving him crazy.”

Natacha then: “Yes, but you can do that differently. You can also do that with a statement. As an injured party, Tim always has limited access to the file. Shownieuws has also received confirmation from the Public Prosecution Service.”

Unwise

Tim is apparently not always a sensible boy, Natacha concludes. “He is not fully informed of the entire investigation, so Tim does not know at all at what point he is complicating that investigation or not.”

She concludes: “Just not convenient, not sensible, too premature at this stage. That’s my opinion.”
