Patty Brard is angry with the people behind the ratings measurements. The summer edition of her Shownieuws program attracted enough viewers yesterday for a place in the top 25, but she is not in that.
The early summer edition of Shownieuws is anything but a ratings hit, but it is noticeable that the scores are slightly higher than the scores that HLF8 set at the same time. And that while HLF8 broadcast in the high season and the early Shownieuws can now be seen in the low season.
Striking viewing figures
Tina Nijkamp, former channel boss of SBS 6, thinks the channel can be satisfied with that. “What is very striking is that the summer edition of Shownieuws seems to score better than HLF8 on SBS 6. 301,000 viewers yesterday and a market share of 9.9 percent in the target group 20 to 54.”
On some days, the early Shownieuws scores even better in the target group than Khalid & Sophie on NPO 1, according to Tina. “Exciting how the summer edition will develop from next week without Khalid & Sophie, but with the repeat of We Are Almost There.”
Not in the top 25
The summer edition of Shownieuws received 287 thousand viewers and almost 9 percent market share yesterday, but is therefore not in the daily list of 25 most viewed programs. The one o’clock in the afternoon news with 285 thousand viewers is said to be the last of the top 25 viewing figures.
Bizarre, Shownieuws diva Patty Brard thinks it is. “Can’t you count SKO (Stichting KijkOnderzoek, ed.)? We belong in 25th place!” she screams furiously on her Instagram channel.
What does Tina say?
What does viewing figure expert Tina say about this? “Very right, Patty, but I now see that Shownieuws Summer Edition is not in the ‘books’ yesterday. Your early broadcast yesterday (by mistake) was also called Shownieuws. And a program with the same title takes SKO only once.”
The late edition of Shownieuws scored sixteenth place in the viewership overview with 474 thousand viewers. Only if the early edition of Shownieuws is otherwise ‘in the books’ at SKO, so as Shownieuws Summer Edition, can it get a spot in the top 25.
What exactly went wrong with that yesterday is still unclear.
Viewing figures
Other programs that did not make the top 15 include Race om de Ringen (483 thousand), Nieuwsuur (483 thousand), KVW (472 thousand) and De Bevers (305 thousand).
