Patty Brard refuses the invitation to hear the story of the man accused of rape by Maxime Meiland. “I received a text from Peter Schouten.”
It is no secret that the experts at Shownieuws are usually strongly biased about the topics they discuss at the desk, because they all maintain friendly relationships with celebrities. For example, Patty Brard hangs around Maxime Meiland’s neck in the afternoon, after which she discusses her defamation case on TV in the evening. ‘Objectively’…
Book full of chalk
Patty is very much in the Maxime camp, she showed on Friday evening in Shownieuws, just after she was a guest in the new celebrity show of the Meilandjes. “I really thought Maxime was very sad these days. She’s defeated a little. I really had her in my arms. The whole world accuses her of lies, but that has not yet been proven.”
Isn’t Maxime entirely to blame for the fact that things aren’t going well in terms of PR? “Well, Maxime didn’t say anything,” said Patty.
Cheers! What?! That girl wrote a whole book about it! “Yes, that’s where it started,” Patty then agrees.
Maxime in tears
Patty criticizes the man whom Maxime accuses of rape and who has therefore filed a complaint of libel and slander. “What I find quite striking is that the alleged perpetrator seeks publicity so much that you also see him photographed when he goes to the ‘crime scene’ where it allegedly happened.”
The man had himself photographed from behind. “Maxime told me about this and was also in tears and very sad when a collaboration that was very important to her on social media was canceled during our conversation. That brand actually doesn’t want to associate with her. So it is also costing her a lot of money at the moment.”
Pity
All in all, Patty’s reporting on this issue is quite one-sided. “I said I feel sorry for that child. From a mother’s heart I felt sorry,” she says to the same person a day later, yesterday evening Show news-desk. “And the show wasn’t over yet when a text came in from Peter Schouten.”
Peter Schouten is the lawyer of Maxime’s ‘rapist’. “He said that if I felt so sorry for Maxime, I should have coffee with that boy today, the alleged perpetrator, and that afterwards I should also express pity for him here at the desk. Yeah, you know… That was a bit crazy.”
Have a cup of coffee
It looks like Peter was drunk, Patty then suggests. “I think Peter Schouten had a bit of a drink when I read it like that, but I find it very strange that someone who wishes to remain anonymous invites me through his lawyer to have coffee with him today. That’s strange, isn’t it?
Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “Yes, but he also has something like that, because you have a bond with Maxime… He has something like that: when you come to me, you also see someone who is defeated…”
Well, Patty sighs. That man must be in it for the money, she concludes her story.
