Patty Brard always looks in Shownieuws to get through a ring, but privately she is of course a lot less glamorous. She shows what that looks like on her own Insta page.
There are many complaints about influencers who use so many filters that an unrealistic image of beauty is created. Of course, the old-fashioned television has actually been doing the same for decades, only they don’t use filters there but a good layer of make-up. Patty Brard shows without embarrassment what the difference looks like.
Patty without makeup
The 67-year-old Patty is currently free from Shownieuws and has therefore flown back to her home in Ibiza. There she just walks through the house without make-up and without a glamorous outfit. And she’s not ashamed to show what she actually looks like if she hasn’t been through the car wash.
Patty seems to find it important to create a realistic picture of what TV stars look like outside the studio. She invariably shares photos of how she shines when she just comes out of the make-up, but in the meantime just as often shows how she just walks in everyday life. And of course Patty can also be seen without make-up.
Not John de Mol-proof
One thing is certain: without that thick layer of make-up, Patty would in any case never get into John de Mol. She already revealed in 2018 that the media tycoon even prefers not to have women over 50 kilos on the channel. “He doesn’t like somewhat fuller women on television. He wants them thin and blond.”
Unless it’s family, of course. “Still, it’s strange that you say that about those slim blond women, because he is a fan of one fat blonde. His own sister”, responded Karin Bloemen at the time.
Weight clause
Patty lost a lot of weight a while ago and then John offered her a nice contract. She revealed in her biography in 2020 that he wanted to include a weight clause in her contract at the time. “I told my financial advisor, ‘Monday morning that retarded paragraph about that weight will be out or they’ll figure it out with their entire contract.”
In the end, Patty had that paragraph modified. “We have made it ‘appearance’. So that I have to keep the same appearance for the duration of the contract.”

Probably not. “And probably not with John’s son either,” said Patty in her biography.
