Patty Brard and Robbert Rodenburg collided with each other last year during the recording of his talk show Open Card. “A lot has really been cut in,” said the television diva.

Robbert Rodenburg interviews a selection of famous Dutch people in his talk show Open Card every season. He had none other than Patty Brard sitting across from him last November. His attempt to trick her into making some bold statements failed; she was suddenly sweet about her arch-rival Bridget Maasland.

Patty counteracts

It did get exciting when Robbert decided to tackle Patty about the working method of Shownieuws. Robbert’s good friend Monica Geuze was forced to announce her pregnancy years ago after pressure from Shownieuws† “They said, ‘If you don’t bring it out, we will’ when it comes to my pregnancy!”

Patty apparently does not agree with that lecture and she gave a lot of resistance when Robbert confronted her about it. However, those spicy images did not make it to the Open Card broadcast.

“A lot has been cut out!”

It was an exciting get-together, Patty recalls. “I was very much made fun of about Shownieuws, so it became a long conversation and a lot was cut in then,” she says in Shownieuws

She continues: “He mentioned that we once said something about a girlfriend of his and that was not true and we should not have done that, but of course I am not for the whole program, so he got from me… He is like us always out for something new, but I didn’t let him create it, let’s put it this way…”

Who was that girlfriend? “Monica Geuze.”

nasty statements

All in all, according to Patty, you have to be careful when you sit down with Robbert. She portrays him as a kind of wolf in sheep’s clothing. “You should not be tempted to make very nasty statements.”

According to her, Robbert is trying to do that. “That is his right. He often succeeds.”

The meeting between Patty and Robbert can be seen below. From 30:30 they briefly return to their collision, which has therefore been cut from the interview:
