Patrik Laine is injured, the Finn’s club Columbus Blue Jackets informs on Twitter.

According to the club, Laine will be sidelined for two to four weeks as a result of an extensor muscle injury. The injury happened during training.

The Finnish player’s injury is a hard setback for Columbus. Laine has been in great shape in the last few games. Below is a three-match power streak. Laine, who played as a center in the last five games, has scored 1+7. For the whole season, the points in 55 matches are 52 (22+30).

Columbus has had a miserable season. The team is last in the entire league. He has 51 points from 70 matches.

The NHL Regular Season ends on April 14. It is possible that the Finnish player’s season is completely over if the recovery from the injury progresses according to the longer forecast.

The injury also puts a big question mark on Laine’s journey to the World Cup. Columbus certainly doesn’t want to let its Finnish star into the prestigious competition if it risks next season.

The World Cup will be played in May.
