Patrick Laine is known in NHL circles as a real fashion guru in his own life.
The Finnish forward wears the most imaginative outfits on game days, and nowadays it’s hard to browse Columbus Blue Jackets’ social media channels without coming across them.
Laine tells in the fresh of Columbus Monthly in an interview about his hobby of shopping.
The NHL star enjoys a massive $8.7 million annual salary, and it shows when he pulls on his shopping pants.
– I browse the internet and if I see something I like, I buy it. I browse everything possible, the brand doesn’t matter, says Laine.
– If I have a certain kind of suit, I might look for shirts, shoes or other accessories to match it. If I find nice shoes, I might make a suit for them.
Laine says that in the Columbus dressing room, his biggest challenger in terms of style is the goalkeeper Elvis Merzlikins. According to Laine, the Latvian hat collection is unparalleled.
When the Finnish cannon is not putting on a game day outfit, he prefers casual and comfortable clothes. However, some of them have been too much for a girlfriend.
– He has vetoed a couple of leisure outfits. I don’t use them anymore, says Laine.
