Patrik Laine is close to returning.
The Columbus Blue Jackets’ Finnish star Patrik Laine sends blunt greetings to his executioner.
Calgary Flames Rasmus Andersson tackled Laine in the head in a meeting between the teams at the end of October.
Andersson was banned for four games for his tackle. Laine, on the other hand, has been sidelined for nine games due to a concussion.
Laine commented on Andersson’s tackle on Friday after Columbus’ ice practice. He considered it “unnecessary”.
– Let’s just say I’m looking forward to playing against him in January, Laine told the Blue Jackets reporter Jeff Svobodan by.

On Friday, Laine was in full ice practice for the first time since Andersson’s tackle.
Laine is hopeful that he could play already this weekend.
– We’ll see how he’s doing on Saturday. Overall, I feel good.
