Patrik Laine returned to the lineup and scored

The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Chicago Blackhawks.

– It seems that the airfryer boys are in the same chain today.

That’s what the Columbus Blue Jackets website editor said Jeff Svoboda On his X account before Wednesday’s match.

The “Airfryer boys” are Patrick Laine and a young super promise staying with him Adam Fantilli.

Laine returned to the lineup after one match in the stands.

Coach Pascal Vincent emphasized in his speech that it was not a matter of humiliation but a small breather.

Laine skated to the Chicago Blackhawks game with work gloves on, and at least the self-confidence didn’t seem like a battered popcorn flick. Vincent, on the other hand, underlined his words by offering credit in a familiar place in the number one supremacy.

The entire Blue Jackets nation knew that Laine needed success, in other words, a goal or an assist, but it didn’t want to happen. It wasn’t until the very end of the second period, in a 6-1 situation, that the airfryer boys struck.

Laine cut and served to Fantill. Fantilli spun back. Laine tapped the bouncing puck from his knuckles into the front corner.

– He shoots. He paints. It’s hit number seven, the Blue Jackets gloated on their X account – and already forgot to use normal letters.

Cut the pipe

The Blue Jackets ended up winning 7–3, snapping a nine-game losing streak. However, the playoff line is still very far away.

Laine cleared 16 minutes of ice time, shot twice and scored the second hook in the third period. The balance of the entire season shows four (3+1) power points after ten matches.

The Blue Jackets’ season continues as the New Jersey Devils visit Finland time on Friday evening.
