The Finnish duo of the Blue Jackets went to say hello to little hockey fans.

Patrik Laine will play in Tampere this weekend. PDO

Patrick Laine and Joonas Korpisalo visited Helsinki’s New Children’s Hospital on Tuesday to see small patients and hand out toys, pucks and other gifts.

Children’s hospital communications manager Jonna Suometsä reveals that the children were very interested in the guests. The NHL club Columbus Blue Jackets had taken the initiative to arrange a visit.

– There were a lot of children and families there. The players wrote autographs for them and handed out cards and other gifts to our patients, Suometsä describes.

There were visitors seeing patients from several departments. Some had drawn pictures of the logo and players for them.

NHL stars also visited the children’s hospital four years ago, when the Winnipeg Jets represented by Laine and the Florida Panthers met in Helsinki.

This year’s NHL games played in Finland will take place in Tampere.
