Their birthplace Rotterdam does not appear to be their only common denominator: Patricia Paay (72) and Ronald Molendijk (56) are also related to each other. The news was revealed yesterday by Ronald, at the desk of Shownieuws. “Months ago I came into contact with Patricia Paay because someone told me that we would be related.”

Family trees

It has now all been sorted out, according to Ronald. “Now my parents and my brother have died a long time ago, so I couldn’t check that anywhere. But in the end she hitchhiked pedigrees this week. So my grandfather and her grandmother were brother and sister. Now I don’t know what that makes us or whether we are anything at all…”

Patty Brard: “Well, if they’re brother and sister, you’re cousins.”

Dennis van der Geest: “Well, that’s pretty straightforward.”

grandniece

The other experts of Shownieuws think that Patricia is Ronald’s grandniece. “Back. Behind!” they shouted.

Ronald said he hadn’t expected it all. “From now on it’s just Ronald Paay. Done with it.”
