Patricia Bullrich on the Omnibus law: “When the objective is deformed, it is no longer useful”

The ruling party made the call for the special session, in which the Chamber of Deputies will debate the omnibus law, for this Wednesday. However, it is estimated that the government has not yet secured the necessary votes to approve the law. In a complex panorama and against the clock, the leaders and officials who respond to the president continue negotiating with the most dialogue-oriented opposition and a select group of governors.

In the midst of expectations, journalist Gabriel Ziblat interviewed Patricia Bullrich for the La Nación + channel. “The law has to be dealt with now. It is very important to understand it. It is a law that has had a lot of changes and, well, it is time to address it. When the changes are so many and it becomes deformed, the objective is no longer useful. A chapter has already been published, tomorrow we will move forward,” remarked the Minister of Security.

Given this statement, Ziblat asked: “Has the objective already been distorted for you? The question left the official in silence for a few seconds and then she resumed: “We will see what the response of the blocks and the deputies is. We have the conviction to advance a change and they are not going to stop us.”

Finally, the bill, which will be discussed on Wednesday, has had many alterations since its arrival in the Lower House over the last few days. From that original bill that was sent to Congress, it ended up being eliminated 139 articles and 17 modifications were counted.
