Ahead of Paris Couture Week, French label Patou, which belongs to French luxury goods group LVMH, presented its new collection ‘Dancing Diaries’.
Guillaume Henry, the label’s creative director, remained true to his design style and presented a wide range of young, sexy looks for everyday wear and evening wear. The show was attended by numerous friends of the designer, dressed from head to toe in Patou – the perfect brand ambassadors.
The history of the fashion house
Jean Patou founded his eponymous fashion label in 1914. The brand was best known in the 1920s and early 1930s. After the death of the founder in 1936, the brand lost its luster. Although over time many high-profile designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix took the helm, it was the signature perfume ‘Joy’ that kept the brand’s name alive. In 2018 the label was taken over by the LVMH group acquired and Guillaume Henry as creative director appointed. Since then, the label has only existed under the name Patou and once again enjoys an international clientele.
The visitors of the Patou show wore looks from both the current and previous collections of the label. From skirts and dresses to suits and trousers, the diversity of Henry’s design styles was evident.
