Coach Christoph Dabrowski and second division soccer team Hannover 96 go their separate ways at the end of the season.
The long-time youth coach, whose contract with the Lower Saxony expires in the summer, will be replaced. The 43-year-old does not want to return to the 96-year-old academy.
Who will be the new head coach of the Reds is still open. Most recently, managing director Martin Kind was optimistic that Stefan Leitl would be able to sign from SpVgg Greuther Fürth, who had been relegated to the Bundesliga. However, he then emphasized that “nothing was decided”.
Dabrowski took over as head coach in December and avoided relegation with Hannover. “My next steps will be in professional football. That’s the path I want to continue on,” said Dabrowski, who played for 96 from 2003 to 2006.
