The task was not easy. A relative wanted to go eat really good pasta again. I’d love to, but where to? There are many restaurants in Berlin that promise that. Spoiled for choice.
In the end we decide on “Pasta & Passione”. Here it says: “We make our pasta ourselves every day.” Guests can choose between five types of pasta. Thick, somewhat rough strings of dough, cooked al dente and tossed in a creamy sauce – images like this pop up in my head. Spaghetti carbonara (14.50 euros) and tagliatelle with salmon (16.50 euros) are ordered.
But before that there is a round of bruschetta (5.50 euros). That comes across as solid. The bread is crispy, the tomatoes are fresh and flavorful – delicious!
And then comes the eagerly awaited pasta. They can also convince – although they are less coarse and al dente than hoped. But the cream sauce is nice and spicy and very important: There are some large pieces of salmon.
The only drawback: the prices. The cheapest pasta (with tomato sauce and basil) costs a sporty 12.50 euros.
Conclusion: The service is committed, the location is great and pasta fans will certainly leave here full and happy. But it is not a MUST.
