The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) detonated a hand grenade on Sunday evening on the Zandmotorpad in The Hague.
The hand grenade was found earlier that evening on the Lippe-Biesterfeldweg by passers-by, calamity site reports District8† The EOD buried the hand grenade in the sand and later detonated it.
The EOD identifies and clears explosives. This happens more than 2,500 times a year. These are conventional explosives, especially from the Second World War, and improvised explosives.
