Passenger killed in train collision in Munich, dozens injured

In the southern district of Munich, two S-Bahn trains collided near the Ebenhausen-Scheftlarn station, one person died, at least 14 were injured, informs publication Bild with reference to the police.

One of the drivers, judging by the footage from the scene, got stuck in the cab, he had to be cut out from the wreckage, the newspaper notes.

According to the Munich police, the collision occurred around 16:40 (18:40 Moscow time). The railway station is located on a site where there is only one track. One train was heading towards Munich, the other followed in the opposite direction. At least one carriage derailed. The causes of the incident have not yet been clarified.

The railway line S7 and the federal highway B11, running in parallel, are blocked. Rescue services, police and firefighters are conducting a large-scale operation.
