AZ took the full loot this afternoon visiting FC Utrecht: 1-2. Pascal Jansen’s team has still not lost in the Eredivisie after nine games and is also the leader. On a visit to the Dom city, AZ put on a strong game. “We have controlled the game almost in its entirety.”
“We might have been allowed to score a little more goals”, was the first reaction of AZ coach Pascal Jansen afterwards. “We had good chances for a third or fourth goal. If you still give away a goal, it is annoying instead of a clean sheet.“
“If you win in the Galgenwaard, then you’re a fat buyer”
Dani de Wit again ran the necessary meters at AZ and often did the dirty work for the Alkmaarders. The midfielder from Bovenkarspel sees that AZ is growing with the match. “The trainer insists that the results are good, but the game has to be better, especially on the ball. Today we did very well and I think we can be proud of that,” said De Wit.

Impregnable Fortress
Galgenwaard Stadium has proved to be an impregnable fortress for many teams. For example, AZ last won in Utrecht in November 2019. This afternoon, however, AZ imposed the will on the home team. “We checked the match. Not many teams can say that in the Galgenwaard. That also had to do with the level we achieved ourselves,” said a satisfied Pascal Jansen.
