Partying inside or outside: this will be it again with King’s Day in Zoetermeer

After two years, Zoetermeerders can finally go wild again during King’s Day 2022! Are we just celebrating in an orange shirt or in a red-white-blue rain poncho?

Rico Schröder, meteorologist at Weeronline looks ahead: “The chance of dry weather with sunshine is 40 percent.”

‘Weather forecast is still uncertain’

“The chance is at least 40 percent that you can sell your unnecessary stuff dry on your rug. If there is some rain, the quantities are probably limited, because the chance of a raining out King’s Day is only 10 percent. Rain can also fall very early in the day or only late in the evening,” says Rico. “All in all, it could be better than expected next week, but the expectation is still very uncertain.”

King’s Day in Zoetermeer

Do you already know where you are going during King’s Day in Zoetermeer? There is plenty to do, such as the aubade in the morning, the free market in the center or one of the orange festivities in the Stadshart and the Dorpsstraat. Whether it will be hopping under an orange umbrella, or snacking in shorts, that remains to be seen.

Zoetermeer Weather

Warmest King’s Day

King’s Day 2020 was the warmest King’s Day ever measured. A temperature of 20.7 degrees was then measured in De Bilt. In 2016, the temperature there remained at 10.7 degrees, making it the coldest King’s Day. The warmest Queen’s Day took place in 1993. On April 30, it was 26.9 degrees in De Bilt. The coldest edition was in 1970. It did not get warmer than 8.6 degrees.

So no record this year, but we are 100 percent sure that we will celebrate the orange party. Rain or shine…!
