One person was killed in a brawl between members of rival motorcycle clubs in Péronnes-lez-Antoing (Hainaut province). This has been confirmed by the prosecutor of the judicial district of Tournai-Bergen. The incident happened during the opening night of Chapiteau de Peronnesa festive event that brings young farmers together.

The emergency services arrived on Friday night around 1.30 am on the chemin de St-Druon in Péronnes. There was a party going on in a tent, organized by a professional organization for young farmers. In the course of the evening a gang of motorcyclists arrived. They immediately attacked a man outside the tent. They would also have used a hammer. After beating up the victim, the perpetrators fled.
According to the Crown Prosecutor Vincent Macq, a person was hit by a car. The emergency services were on the scene around 1:30 a.m., but the man who had been hit did not survive. “The facts are very serious. The victim has died,” the prosecutor confirmed to RTL. The man who was attacked with a hammer is seriously injured.
According to the initial findings, it concerns a settlement between the Hells Angels and the Bandidos. An autopsy will be performed on the victim’s body later in the day. A woman was also injured in the encounter.
The drama took place in the middle of the marquee, with quite a few people around watching the “horror scene” happen. About a thousand people were evacuated. “After more than an hour we were able to leave but under guard, one by one with police officers in a row. They were armed to the teeth,” a witness explains to the newspaper ‘La Dernière Heure’.
An investigating judge and a team from the lab of the federal judicial police of Tournai-Bergen went to the scene. More information from the public prosecutor’s office will follow later Saturday.
