Asbestos particles were released during a major fire in Den Helder. The VThe North Holland North safety region warns about this. Two tweets from the security region talk about an area from the Nieuweweg roundabout to Burgemeester Ritmeesterweg to Zuid train station. Local residents will be informed about the situation.
The Safety Region warned of dangerous insulation material that came with sparks in the vicinity of the bulb shed that was burning. Asbestos may also have been found. The particles are examined. There are also ashes in the rest of the city. There would be no asbestos in it.
The fire in the flower bulb shed is now under control, although it is still extinguished all night before the fire is out. The area around the fire has been cordoned off. People from miles around notice the consequences of the flames. Some local residents say they find remains of the shed in their garden.
Second fire
Also in Heerhugowaard a major fire is currently raging. Because it is the second major fire of the evening in Noord-Holland Noord, a coordination team from the Kennemerland region is involved.
