Part of Zoeber playground closed due to possible PFAS pollution

Years ago, the fire brigade gave demonstrations here with fire-fighting foam, which may have caused PFAS to seep into the ground. But the chance that a risky situation has arisen as a result is very minimal. Pending further investigation, the municipality has decided to take some precautions. The playground effect on the domain will not be jeopardized.

Arne De Brabandere, alderman for youth Hooglede: “There is currently no danger for children, absolutely not. But just as the local residents have to take a number of measures: do not use the well water, do not use our own grown vegetables and fruit, we do. that also here on the playground.
