During the carnival parade in Prinsenbeek, part of a carnival wagon fell on visitors on Sunday afternoon. One woman was injured. According to the organizers, the parade will start again.
The accident happened on the corner of Pasquelaan around 2 p.m. The object fell down about ten meters for unknown reasons. The woman probably has a broken shoulder, she was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
Robbert Janssen of the Beeckse Algemeen Karnavalstichting thinks it is terrible what has happened, but is glad that no more were injured.
According to him, the parade will start again around a quarter past three. “The police have investigated the matter and they have indicated that the parade can run again. The car where it went wrong may also continue to drive. They have also discussed this with the woman’s family.”
