Part 1: The history of the Drents Parliament, what about it?

In addition to the stadtholder, the drost and the deputies in Drenthe, who were already there at the time but could not be elected by the farmers and citizens, also had to endure it. The fact that Hiddema and the six leaders of the dingspelen visited the stadtholder is seen as a pivotal point, because the province is standing up against the stadtholder.

Another important point in history is 1795. Then the French revolution reaches Drenthe. At that time, justice and finances are structured differently. In 1804 Assen received city rights and then became the official capital of Drenthe. In 1811 the church games officially became municipalities and in 1814 Drenthe officially became a province.
