Kylian Mbappé’s failure to move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid generated more headlines last summer than most completed deals. And even though the transfer window has long since closed, the rumors surrounding the superstar have not stopped.
The future of Kylian Mbappé is and remains the dominant topic around Paris Saint-Germain. As of today, the superstar is out of contract after the 2023/24 season and can move to another club for free. Real Madrid should have had their commitment in their pockets for a long time.
In Paris they are still angry about this – at Mbappé and the Royals. And club boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Co. allegedly want to continue to make life as difficult as possible for their rivals from Madrid.
As the portal “OK Diario” reports, PSG wants to use Mbappé as a return coach in the Royal squad. Accordingly, the French are planning to lure numerous well-known stars of the Spanish record champions with top offers.
PSG has five Real stars on their wish list
Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo are particularly mentioned in this context. They should be at the top of Al-Khelaifi’s list. But these two names are just the beginning.
“OK Diario” also speculates that Paris Saint-Germain could also approach Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde. It is said that PSG coach Luis Enrique is particularly interested in these three players.
Real Madrid has the upper hand
The problem for the Parisians: None of the players mentioned would be available for free in the summer of 2024. With the exception of Rodrygo (contract until 2025), they are all under contract with Real until 2027 and 2028 respectively. The Royals therefore have more leverage and can always refer to the exit clauses anchored in the contracts – these are each in the high three-digit million range.
A “PSG revenge” on Real Madrid in the event of a Mbappé move in the summer of 2024 would probably be wishful thinking from the top French club. Those responsible at the Spanish record champions apparently also know this, who refused to comment on the Mbappé issue in the summer and did not feel compelled to talk in any way about the sales necessary to finance the Mbappé deal.
