Paris Saint-Germain no longer wants to play in the Prinzenpark in the future

The Prinzenpark has been the home of Paris Saint-Germain for 50 years. But now the club wants to move.

The French football series champion Paris St. Germain has announced its departure from the Parc des Princes (Prince Park) after 50 years. “Now it’s over, we want to move out,” PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said on Thursday. Two days earlier, the city of Paris had rejected a sale of the stadium to the capital club.

“We know what we want. We wasted years buying the park,” said the Qatari businessman on the sidelines of the UEFA Congress in Paris. PSG considers the acquisition of the stadium essential to carry out its expansion plans to 60,000 seats. The 1984 European Championship final stadium currently offers space for around 48,000 fans.
