Is the transfer saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé really about to come to a spectacular end? The French superstar is said to have decided to move to Real Madrid. Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly already been preparing for a possible farewell in the background.
As “ESPN” claims to have learned from an unnamed source, PSG has identified Rafael Leão from AC Milan as Mbappé’s successor. The 24-year-old has a contract with the Rossoneri until 2028. If Mbappé actually moves to Real Madrid in the summer, the Portuguese would probably be the ideal solution.
According to the US broadcaster, Paris Saint-Germain has had the feeling for weeks that Mbappé would leave the club in the summer. According to information from “Le Parisien” and “ESPN”, the 25-year-old has decided to join Real Madrid.
The Royals have been said to be interested in the 2018 World Cup winner for years. Mbappé has not yet commented on the reports.
“Both Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid expect Mbappé to announce his decision soon,” said transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in his “Daily Briefing” on the personnel on Sunday.
The attacker will “first communicate his decision to the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, but Real Madrid are certainly working very strongly and very hard on this deal – they are on it,” said Romano. Mbappé can leave the French champions for free at the end of the season.
PSG apparently lured Mbappé with even more money
As “ESPN” reports, PSG is said to have tried to persuade its flagship to stay by improving his annual salary by an estimated 72 million euros.
Mbappé moved from AS Monaco to PSG in 2018. Transfer rumors have been swirling around the goalscorer for a long time. If you believe “Le Parisien” and “ESPN”, the die could now be cast.
Mbappé obviously wants to take part in the Olympic Games in Paris in the summer and should demand this in appropriate negotiations.
