Officers in Paris shot and killed a man who had attacked them with a knife. Two police officers were slightly injured. According to authorities, the man had no terrorist motive. The incident at Gare du Nord station caused train traffic to be delayed.
Transport minister Jean-Baptiste Djebbari confirmed on the radio that the attacker died on the spot. He was known to the police. According to police sources, his knife bore the letters ACAB, an abbreviation of ‘All cops are bastards’.
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin had already said no civilians were injured.
