The 31-year-old from Brescia from Bahrain-Victorious does not start in the second stage of the French classic
Nothing to do, Sonny Colbrelli retires from Paris-Nice and will not start the second stage today of the French race, after yesterday he broke away in the final of the first fraction dominated by Jumbo-Visma with Laporte’s victory over teammates Roglic and Van Aert. The 31-year-old from Brescia of Bahrain-Victorious, reigning Italian and European champion and winner of Paris-Roubaix on October 3, had made his debut on Saturday 26 February at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, 2nd behind Van Aert, but still after a somewhat troubled winter on the preparation front.
Sonny complains of bronchitis and during the night he also got a fever. Now it remains to define his approach to the classics, starting with the Milan-Sanremo on Saturday 19 March, which inevitably got complicated.
