Paris Fashion Week SS 2024, beauty trends from the catwalks

Cfashion week ends in Milan, it’s the turn of Paris Fashion Week SS 2024. Eight intense days, from 26 September to 3 October, for discover beauty trends from the City of Light. From the hair, among which elegant and refined wet looks triumph, to the make-up, which plays between two opposites: the standard nude look and a brightly colored look, with lips.

Paris Fashion Week SS 2024: Dior, elegantly punk beauty

Dior is the first big name to inaugurate Paris fashion week and for SS 2023 it puts aside the refined pure nude make-up and pink shades for a sophisticatedly punk make-up. The fashion show, accompanied by the installation Not Her by the artist Elena Bellantoni, is inspired by female power and the struggle of women for the conquest of fundamental rights.

Strong women and warriors, therefore, made up with a nude look is standard but with the emphasis placed on the lips… like a witch. Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Christian Dior Make up, has shaded only in the center an intense burgundy, so much so that it seems almost black, which stands out on the pink mouth and diaphanous face.

«The brightness of the face, possible thanks to the Dior Forever Glow Veil et al Dior Forever Skin Glow the foundation that evened out the complexion is interrupted by the make up of the lips. The effect I wanted to create is that of a dark mouth, with a dramatic and rebellious effect” explained the make up artist backstage.

As the makeup artist explained, the color was applied to the inside of the lips, where the upper and lower lips meet. The nuance was blended only in the center, on the outside the natural color of the models’ lips stands out. To recreate it? «To make them I used the Diorshow on Stage Crayon 099 Black but you can also choose the 943 Euphoric or the 959 Charnelle».

Red lips and gold cheekbones: sensual make-up by Saint Laurent

The Saint Laurent SS 2024 collection by Anthony Vaccarello recalls the Moroccan days that Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent spent outside Marrakech, the desert teas sipped in the Sahara and the aerial adventures of Amelia Earhart.
